School Begins

"School Begins" portrays Uncle Sam lecturing four school kids who represent the Philippines, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Cuba. These kids look uncomfortable and look as if they would rather not be there. It is showing that America felt superior to the other countries. We were going to annex them and get involved in their business whether they liked it or not. We disregarded what thoses countries wanted, and from the picture, it is clear that they did not want to be involved with America.
